8 ANNUAL JOG MEETING

 

On November 21st 2008, the Centro Para Prevenção da Poluição (C3P, Center for Pollution Prevention) hosted a JOG meeting in San Diego, California, USA.

The meeting was led by the C3P Director General and attended by NASA Headquarters, NASA Kennedy Space Center, NASA White Sands Test Facility, International Trade Bridge, Inc. (ITB), US Air Force Space Command, TEC, Inc., University of California at San Diego and the Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (ISQ).

The JOG meeting was opened with remarks from David Amidei by welcoming everyone to the JOG meeting and the Martin-Johnson House at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

At the JOG meeting a review of C3P’s activities and achievements in 2007 and 2008 were provided (information available in C3P’s Activities Report 2007/2008).

During this meeting several possible project areas were discussed for C3P to explore in 2008/2009, namely:

Renewable Energies – system integration (Berlenga and Torres Vedras Projects);

Groundwater treatment / remediation (Aquifer Beja Project);

Reduction of VOC emissions.
